Fieldprint Fingerprinting

Need fingerprints for a background check? Both Computer Concepts stores, in Williamsburg and Yorktown, are authorized Fieldprint collection locations. We take your fingerprints electronically with Livescan, and Fieldprint sends them securely to the agencies running your background check, such as the Virginia State Police and the FBI.

Fingerprinting is by appointment only. Schedule online through Fieldprint, then come to the store you chose at your appointment time. Computer Concepts doesn't charge any additional fees.

Who Needs Fieldprint Fingerprinting?

Employers, licensing boards and state agencies use Fieldprint for fingerprint-based background checks. In Virginia, that includes:

  • Child care providers and Department of Social Services programs
  • Behavioral health and developmental services providers
  • EMS personnel
  • Health-profession license applicants
  • Teachers, school staff and student teachers
  • New hires whose employer requires fingerprinting

How to Schedule Your Fingerprinting Appointment

  1. Get your Fieldprint code from the employer, licensing board or agency requesting your background check.
  2. Go to Fieldprint's website. Most Virginia applicants use fieldprintvirginia.com. Select "Schedule an Appointment."
  3. Create your account and enter your Fieldprint code and personal information.
  4. Choose Computer Concepts in Williamsburg or Yorktown, then pick a date and time.
  5. Print your confirmation page and bring it to your appointment.

Appointments are scheduled through Fieldprint only. Our stores can't book them for you.

What to Bring

  • Your printed confirmation page from Fieldprint
  • Two forms of ID, at least one of them a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, U.S. passport or military ID

Your confirmation page lists the IDs accepted for your program.

Fees & Results

  • No store fees: the fingerprinting fee is paid to Fieldprint when you schedule, either by you or your employer, depending on your program. Computer Concepts charges nothing extra.
  • Results go directly to the agency or employer that requested your check, usually within a few business days. Questions about your results should go to that agency.

Fieldprint Fingerprinting FAQs

Can I walk in without an appointment?
No. Fingerprinting is by appointment only, and appointments are scheduled through Fieldprint.

Do you do ink fingerprint cards or I-9 verification?
No. We offer Livescan electronic fingerprinting only.

Do you charge a fee?
No. Fieldprint's fee is paid when you schedule, and Computer Concepts doesn't add any charges.

Where do I get my Fieldprint code?
From the employer, licensing board or agency that requested your background check.

What if I need to reschedule?
Change or cancel your appointment through Fieldprint. Fieldprint may charge a fee for changes made less than 24 hours before your appointment.
