Computer Concepts has been committed to Customer Training since the company’s 2004 startup in Williamsburg. There, computer techs huddled with customers to help them make the best computer decisions. In 2010, Dick Smith, with over twenty-years of technical and training experience, signed on as Training Director and Lead Trainer.
With a dedicated classroom and a lot of motivation, Dick created classes for Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Skype and other requested software topics. Class size was set to only eight students and class handouts were full of graphics and easy to follow. Today, class size is still small, and the training materials are taken home as reference documents. Class topics now include Apple macOS computers as well as Apple iOS iPads and iPhones, Photo editing and other Apple apps.
Our students are diverse from home-schooled teens, adults after new job skills, adults with disabilities and senior adults who always want to know more. Training methods can always be adapted to fit the student needs. Students can be instructed in a classroom, one-on-one instruction at home. A custom course can be created to fit to your groups’ requirements.
All students are treated with respect and with the understanding that everyone just doesn’t get it the first time. Dick Smith has instructed classes at Newport News Shipbuilding, TNCC Adult Education, Norfolk Naval Base, The College of William & Mary and several thousand classes and one-to-one sessions at Computer Concepts.
